Unfortunately, in the case of my empty nest, I am pretty sure the eggs weren't yet hatched. Mama seemed to be sitting on them as late as yesterday afternoon and I hadn't seen any wee beaks peeking out of the nest prior to that, so I'm thinking it was egg-us interruptus. :(
Raising our future Costa Rican Overlrods, here in Costa Rica. There's a turtle and a parrot (both Costa Rican) and a lot of purple things. It's all good.

I don't suppose they left a forwarding address.
Good luck, little bird.
I hope it fledged and didn't become someone's dinner!
Oh.
Well.
Huh.
I was wondering if it flew or is being digested by something long and slender (with an unappealing bulge somewhere in the middle).
That was very fast!
