A Prophylactic Post

I'm not a migraine sufferer, fortunately, but I have had some funny eye/vision things this morning, so I'm going to post real quick in case I don't feel like being online later in the day.

And, hey, if it ends up having the "take your umbrella so it won't rain" effect, so much the better :)

Updated to add:

Guess I got lucky. From what I read about migraines, the bit in the morning was a classic pre-migraine "aura," but was not, in fact, followed by a migraine.

Note to self: Start carrying an umbrella.

I'll cross my fingers that the umbrella theory works, from a migraine sufferer (and wife of a migraine victim).

That's totally right on. I get the same thing happening every so often but no headache. I just cover my eyes for 40 minutes and these things go away.

Usually it's a quality of light that triggers it. Hazy grey/white uniform light penetration of clouds.

I used to think if I wear my sunglasses 100% of the time when I'm outside, then I will avoid getting the auras. Nope.

It's really horrible to get an aura while driving and suddenly realize that parts of the truck in front of my car are not visible. Then those geometric black and white moving things happen along the fringes of the 'blind spots' and then there's sparkly bits along the edges of the black and white moving things.

....LOL....

I've had three of these this year. The last time I came home and looked at the lightbulbs in the bathroom as I turned on the light switch... BOOM< That was baaaaad.

.......you....are...not......alone!!

New to your blog but spent the last day and a half reading as much as I could (with a toddler in the house). I hope my current migraine didn't come visit you since I was concentrating so intently on your words.

My green parrots send their greetings to Loren.
