Quote of the Day

The cat is about to throw up. Again.

For once, I'm close enough to grab her off the couch and toss her onto the tile floor. Even manage to center her in a single square, avoiding the cement channel between tiles. The cat finishes her business, jumps back onto the couch.

I approach the scene and hunker down, paper towels in hand.

This was so good, I had to read it aloud to my partner!

One evening, back when we lived in Connecticut, we were hosting a meeting of our peacenik group, and just before the people started to arrive, one of you (we'll blame Lisa - appropriately, as I recall) threw up in the hallway through which people would be entering.

That's the night I discovered that a wide kitchen spatula is a marvelously effective weapon for use at such times.

OOPS -- double comment. Pretend like the first one was posted yesterday. Could have been -- the vomit has been there since Friday I think.

Dad - peacenik group

You just endeared yourself to...well, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say 90% of my regular readers :)

Kona - the vomit has been there since Friday I think

And you just endeared yourself to me :)

Glad you clarified that, kona. I thought maybe txrad had puking on the tile on his list.

My kittehs like to do their puking in the middle of the night, so I won't know it's there and will step on it when I leap (okay, slink) out of bed in the morning.

Turtle just throws up next to the food bowl. So if we're lazy enough, she'll take care of it eventually.

My cats always always make sure they puke on the hand-knotted Persian carpets. Never on the parquet flooring. Oh no. Maybe they prefer the absorbency of wool to the cold splash down of the floor........ghrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Yesterday one of them decided to produce a very large hairball on my bed. Accompanied by much liquified catfood. I experienced much thrilledness. NOT.

Nothing like being awakened in the middle of the night by the hacking and gagging sound of a cat.

Then you know it's out there waiting for you.....

My kitty passed away about a year ago and I miss her terribly! But I do not miss all the puking and stains everywhere.

Lest we dog loving kind feel left out, my dog has an early warning system in place.

There is nothing like waking up to the hork hork hork of a dog working up to puking.

And when I first read this post, I thought that the quote was going to be something about the cat throwing up again.
