And the answer is...
(I was probably in my 40's before I started calling Daddy, Dad. It IS a sort of paradigm shift.)
I remember those very words to my own mommy. She'll grow out of all this maturity, hopefully. :)

While my sibs and I all refer to Mater as Mom - or sometimes Ma, my sisters (ages 59 & 57) still sometimes call Pater Daddy.
