Unwitting participant
So, I'm not sure it even counts because I'm not avoiding anything particular in Thanksgivingless Costa Rica, but I am pleased to report that I am, accidentally, in full compliance with the tenets of Buy Nothing Day.
Next year, tell me ahead of time and I'll do it on purpose.

Huh. I've been a faithful participant in Buy Nothing Day for about a decade or more! I didn't even know.
Buy Nothing Day is a good thing. And, yes, the three deaths in stores this year just reinforce our participation. This year, we did eat pizza my in-laws purchased for dinner.
I was hungry. I never get "real" pizza. I caved.
