The evidence says otherwise

Okay, I'm a morning person.

Today, I wake up a little early. I think I'm all fresh and rested, so I get up and go about my business, doing last night's dishes, heating up the coffee. Feeling good.

So how come I just caught myself about to pour creamer on my corn flakes?

I hope it was cockroach-free creamer. I'm still gagging about your earlier story.

Oh, absolutely. I've been very diligent about making sure the little lid snaps shut ever since.

If you drank your coffee black, that would never happen.

I'm just sayin' . .

Oh dear...were you talking about the POWDERED creamer? I was thinking that liquid creamer would be a special treat, like I sometimes put 2% milk instead of skim on my cereal if I decide I deserve an especially tasty start to the day...

(I suppose if you really HAD poured powdered creamer on your cereal, you could have poured on some water - or maybe spritzed some on - to liquify the creamer.)

Haha...I was thinking liquid creamer too. "WHY?? Because it's DELICIOUS!!!"

Corn flakes? Ewwww yuk. How about some eggs? Lutein + Zeaxanthine = support for eye function. Decrease the risk of cataracts and macular degeneration. (I'm wondering if the high incidence of both among people of a certain age has something to do with the dietary advice against eggs re: cholesterol. Now proved to be incorrect...leaving much blindness in its wake. Sort of like osteoporosis and sunscreen...hm.)

What does 'heating up the coffee' mean? Are you attempting to palatize yesterday's brew?

Surely not.

Having lived in the tropics the house rules are: no dirty dishes in the sink overnight. No returning home to dirty dishes after work. Ant, roach, wasp magnets all. She/he who cooks does not wash. (That rule fell by the wayside due to a lack of available hands. The owners of said hands grow up and leave home.)

Aside which, waking up to dirty dishes or coming home tired at the end of the day to a sinkful of dirty dishes is quite frankly a dispiriting experience.

It's just Boot camp mentality, I suppose. Not such a bad thing though. When other things in life lose their moorings, the last thing I want to concern myself about is trying to organize the basic stuff like dishes and laundry.

Possibly you are trying to get too many things done too early in the day. Probably coffee creamer might make corn flakes (yuk).... oh, forget it.

;)

For any who haven't tried creamer in their cereal?

It's really good. Especially if you have a flavored creamer, but even the regular kind makes the milk (and so the cereal itself) taste much richer.
