Seriously Jennifer, beautiful shots.
As much as I love winter, I wouldn't mind getting down to someplace tropical (or even sub-tropical) once in a while. I'd love to go on a photo expedition to Baja, for instance!
What are those trees in the first photo?
It's a plant, not a tree. It's pretty tall - maybe ten feet or so. You can see one in the foreground of the second picture.
I have a non-silhouette pic of them that I'll try to remember to post in today's batch.
