Costa Rica is broken today
I submit as evidence the fact that two different cable Internet providers in two different cities had outages today (one all day), phone service and traffic conditions were both very surreal, and finally, my own online status message as it evolved over the course of just 15 minutes this afternoon:

Downloading latest version of Open Office. 1 hour, 8 minutes remaining.

I blame Costa Rica. See my post that I haven't written yet.

Oh never mind. I don't feel like posting about Internet service.

Wait. Now "9 min remaining." I tell you, it's gotta be sunspots.
4:23 PM
Ooops. 41. Definitely sunspots.

RE: Sunspots
There are none going on these days.
Apparently this means something important for us earthlings re: weather.
Actually, there are always sunspots occurring, they are a part of the life of any star, something to do with the magnetosphere and spinning plasma. We just happen to be in a nadir of activity right now (and are beginning to enter an upswing).
Nadir for 4 years.
No suggestion of upswing yet.
Delayed upswing = ?
When is CO2 not a warming gas?
Actually, the huge Asiatic soot cloud from charcoal brazier use has more impact.
