Actually it doesn't seem quite as bad as I was picturing it. I was thinking they'd have to actually sidle edgeways to get to their door, but it looks like they could walk normally. (Of course, Robin is narrower than Jose...)
It does restrict the use of the patio/porch/whatever for relaxing and enjoying the pleasant weather. Unless, of course, they were to sit in the car, as Erin suggested.
Well, the position I was basing the drawing and description on was a little different than what we see here.
That day, I could squeeze between the car and the front gate post to get in the driver's side.
This time, as you can see in the third picture, there's no squeezing of any kind going to happen there. I had to go around the front (the car wasn't actually touching the wall in front of it yesterday, as it was the first day), then open the driver's door slightly, squeeze past it and slip slenderly into the driver's seat.
That's um ... cozy. Is there any room for them to back the car out of the patio on the street so that they could sit on the patio, or do they not do much of that?
I love that there is a beaded cover on the driver's seat, left over, I'm assuming from the car's life as a taxi. :)
Raising our future Costa Rican Overlrods, here in Costa Rica. There's a turtle and a parrot (both Costa Rican) and a lot of purple things. It's all good.

It's all relative.
