I wonder how your experience compares with mine from 48 years ago when I got my first glasses: I was amazed at how much detail I had NOT seen without them.
Of course mine were for astigmatism, so things were very slightly fuzzy at any distance near and far. But not enough that I noticed it. Until.

I am old enough to need..bifocals!
I would get them, but being on a fixed income..those suckers are expensive.
So, I use cheaters two pair of em, with different magnification. Its a pain but the best I can do.
