Gold
It's a gold mine. In Chihuahua. I know there's a joke in there somewhere, but it eludes me. Anyone?
Nothing definite, but things are coming along enough that we're starting to wonder things like, "Will working in a mine shaft invalidate his life insurance?" and "Just how many countries will be able to tax the income of a Costa Rican with a US Green Card if he works in Mexico for a Canadian company?" I've managed our taxes through thick and thin (a k a dual-status aliens and foreign-earned income) but if this comes through, 2006 may go down in history as The Year of the Accountant.

Consider it a family thing. What with starting a business ('n'all), 2006 will definitely be The Year of the Accountant. And I think it's complicated for us! Ahh, husbands.
Hmmm...Chihuahua. 375 miles south of El Paso.
Lisa's comment at lunch today: "If he becomes internationally known (so far: Costa Rica and US, and now possibly including Canada and Mexico) there's NO TELLING where he might get job offers from next!"
Sounds wild and wonderful. Keep us all posted!

OOPS! I was looking at the CITY of Chihuahua. I see that the STATE of Chihuahua is some 300 miles wide and 400 miles long and consists of some 95,000 square miles.
Mountains (probably location of gold?) seem to be in the south and west parts of the state.

Late, but hopefully not too late...
Can I tell you how wonderful you made me feel when you said that I was *right* about the friar jacques! ThANK YOU!! It was my biggest ego boost all week.
Even better was when I asked some native Frenchies about it...and they were like "Mon Dieu! you're right!!!"
;-)
We're definitely talking state, not city. Gary says the project is "five long hours" from the airport...
Interesting. The 1989 AAA map shows the city of Chihuahua as being 4 hours and 55 minutes from ElPaso, TX. And Chihuahua has an airport. So my theory is that it's in the southwestern part of the state of Chihuahua.
We'll see if the theory holds water. :)
